BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A new report shows homelessness in Whatcom County is in decline.

The Opportunity Council and the Whatcom County Health Department published results of the 2019 Point-In-Time Count, conducted annually in every county in the U.S. by volunteers.

Results from this year’s count show the largest decrease in homelessness in the county since 2012.

The health department says the PIT Count is widely acknowledged as an undercount, but the report still highlights important information.
