BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom county residents woke up to some modest winter weather Sunday morning.

Snow started over in north county around 10 pm Saturday, reaching Bellingham early morning.

Over 500 Sumas, Blaine and Birch Bay residents dealt with power outages at various times Sunday morning.

Lynden reported ½” of snow accumulation, with a few side streets there said to be slippery.

The National Weather Service posted a wind advisory for western Whatcom and Skagit counties until 10pm to Sunday with northerly gusts to 55 possible in the morning.
