BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County is applying to move to Phase 2 of the governor’s re-opening plan.
The local health department says we’re ready with an infection rate of fewer than four per day, a prepared health care system, and other key measures.
They are working to complete the application, which they plan to send to the county council for approval tomorrow (tues).
It will then go to the state department of health for consideration and we should receive approval within two days.
Phase 2 would allow retail sales, more manufacturing and construction, barbers and hair salons, and other services to open under new safety guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Restaurants could also open up with 50% capacity.
