BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Whatcom County woman is filing a new complaint against State Senator Doug Ericksen claiming he used campaign funds for his work with the EPA.

Sandy Robson, who identifies herself as an independent journalist, accuses Ericksen of spending surplus campaign funds on travel to Washington D-C.

When this issue first came up in May of last year, Ericksen told KGMI that he used the funds to travel to DC for meetings with other officials as a state Senator and not to further his employment with the EPA.

A Public Disclosure Commission spokesperson says it will ask for a response from Ericksen before deciding whether to open an investigation.
