FERNDALE, Wash. – The Ferndale Y is closing.
The Whatcom Family YMCA announced they will permanently close their Ferndale location at 5610 Barrett Road, partly due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Earlier this year, the Ferndale building was purchased by The Locker Room and the YMCA was told that their lease would not be renewed.
After the pandemic forced them to temporarily close all of their Whatcom County facilities, the Y decided to keep the Ferndale location closed for good given the time remaining on their lease.
The closure goes into effect on June 1.
