BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A local study found more than 8,400 jobs, or about eight-percent of total employment in Whatcom County is in farming.
The Center for Economic and Business Research at Western Washington University conducted the study for the Whatcom Business Alliance.
The study also found just 10 percent of the farms – the largest ones – are responsible for 90 percent of the sales.
