WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Health care workers in Whatcom County have begun receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
Lummi Nation tribal elder James Scott, a worker at the reservation’s community clinic, was the first to be vaccinated Thursday.
A nurse and a doctor at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center received the first shots at a ceremony there Friday morning.
Agnes Kuc is a registered nurse who’s been working in the PeaceHealth St. Joseph COVID unit.
Dr. Raj Deol is a pulmonologist who has cared for COVID patients throughout the pandemic.
They both urge everyone to get the vaccine, but to also continue safety measures until the pandemic subsides.
