WHATCOM, Wash – A Whatcom County volunteer is one of the best in the state this year.
Governor Jay Inslee presented Sheriff’s Office “Citizens on Patrol” volunteer Glenn Hawley with a Governor’s Volunteer Service Award.
The 86-year-old checks homes of people on vacation, gives tickets to people parking illegally in disabled parking spots and serves as a janitor for a Sheriff’s Office field office.
