BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A new grant program announced Wednesday will offer payments to Whatcom County businesses affected by COVID-19.
Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu said in a release that the Whatcom ReStart program will combine CARES Act funding for the county and the cities of Bellingham, Lynden, Ferndale, Sumas, Everson, Nooksack and Blaine.
The program will assist businesses that have experienced revenue losses and expenses due to COVID-19-related closures or impacts.
Applications are being accepted for $2.6 million in general grants with $800,000 more for licensed childcare operators, at the Port of Bellingham web site.
