BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County saw a record number of new COVID-19 cases Friday.
The state Department of Health is reporting 48 positive virus tests, the highest number of new cases reported in a single day in the county’s history.
The state reports 4 deaths caused by the virus in Whatcom County since the beginning of October.
The county health department says Whatcom County is experiencing a surge in cases and health officials urge residents to take action to prevent the spread of the disease.
