OLYMPIA, Wash. — Grant money is headed to Whatcom County to assist people and businesses impacted by COVID-19.
Washington State Department of Commerce Director Lisa Brown announced $1.8 million in state Community Development Block Grants to rural counties, including about $150,000 to Whatcom County and $77,000 to Skagit County.
Funds can be used at the discretion of county authorities to meet a variety of local needs, like providing food and rental assistance, small business support and health services.
