SEATTLE, Wash. — As the rain lessens, Whatcom and Skagit County rivers have yet to hit their crests.
At 4 a.m. Wednesday, the USGS reported the Nooksack in Ferndale was roughly 3 feet below minor flood stage.
It is forecast to crest Wednesday evening just below minor flood stage, at 17.89 feet.
The Skagit in Mount Vernon was reported about 5 feet below minor flood stage at 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Its crest is expected about a half-foot above minor flood stage early Thursday morning at 28.45 feet.
