YAKIMA, Wash. — A wildfire burning near Yakima has grown significantly and is threatening hundreds of homes.
The Evans Canyon Fire is now estimated at 52,000 acres and residents of about 900 homes are under evacuation orders.
The fire so far has destroyed five homes and fire information officer Roland Emetaz says it is not yet contained.
