Wildfires continue to rage in Washington.
The Northwest Wildfire Coordinating Group reported 14 new fires in Washington overnight and lightning was reported over the southeast part of the state.
Existing fires that had been under cloud cover the past couple of days saw increased fire behavior as the clouds moved out of the area.
The fires in north central Washington again saw significant fire behavior.
The Red Apple fire near Cashmere is 94% contained, but containment still eludes firefighters on the other fires.
The NWCG says fire danger will gradually rise through the weekend and significant fire potential remains elevated east of the Cascades due to warm, dry conditions and gusty winds.
There is also high potential east of the Cascades for holdover fires in area that received lightning over the last few days.
