BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A wind chill warning and a high wind warning remain in effect for Whatcom County this morning, Monday, December 27th.

Frigid temperatures are expected to linger around the region until Wednesday.

In some parts of Whatcom County, wind chills could drop down to -20 fahrenheit.

Officials are asking people to limit the amount of time spent outside, as extended exposure could cause frostbite and hypothermia.

Puget Sound Energy is reporting dozens of power outages due to fallen trees and power lines.

WSDOT adds that dozens of accidents across the state’s icy roadways were investigated over the weekend.

If you have to head out this morning, make sure your car is fully brushed off and give yourself plenty of time to drive slowly to your destination.
