BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The frigid winter weather put a freeze on Whatcom County home sales.
Real estate broker Troy Muljat reports the number of home sales in Whatcom County were nearly 10% lower in the first quarter of 2019 compared to last year.
Throughout the county, 512 units have been sold so far.
The majority were located in Bellingham, which notched 173 sales, and Ferndale, which had 98.
According to Muljat, they have seen sales start to rebound since the warmer days of March.
Whatcom County’s median sales price, bolstered by the high-priced Bellingham market, rose 5% from last year to just over $383,000.
