BELLINGHAM, WASH. – The snowy, cold winter was a costly one, too.
The Bellingham Herald reports total winter storm-related spending by Whatcom County cities and agencies had neared $5 million as of March 20.
Local officials have submitted claims of about $3 million of that to the federal government, after Governor Jay Inslee declared an emergency for the region.
