LYNDEN, Wash. – A Winter Storm Warning stays in effect until 1:00 Thursday afternoon for western Whatcom County, and drivers should be ready for rough conditions.
Ted Buehner with the National Weather Service says we can expect freezing rain Thursday morning mixing with regular rain and even sleet at times.
“That can freeze on anything, like roadways and tree limbs.” Buehner said. “There could be some local power outages, and slick driving conditions to go with that.”
Temperatures will stay above freezing for much of Thursday.
“During the day it’s going to gradually turn over to rain near the Bellingham area,” Buehner said, “and work its way toward the north and east.”
