BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Two men are in jail after witnesses reported someone was dragging a sparking object behind a vehicle on Portal Way early yesterday.
The object turned out to be one of two safes deputies found with the men at a storage facility in Ferndale.
Deputies found that one of the men, Weldon Davidson of Deming, was wanted for burglary in Bellingham and arrested him.
They let the other man go but quickly tracked him down after a business in the Grandview Business Park reported the safes stolen.
Tyler Fehlman of Bellingham joined Davidson in jail as deputies found other stolen goods including a motorcycle in the storage unit.
They’re seeking warrants for other storage units connected to the pair.
