CONCRETE, Wash. — A Sedro-Woolley woman is dead after crashing her Vespa scooter where Baker Lake Road meets the North Cascades Highway near Skagit Farmers Supply.
The State Patrol says Shannon M. Shipley was traveling on Baker Lake Road toward Highway 20 Saturday afternoon, but instead of turning, she continued straight and hit the guardrail.
Shipley was thrown from the scooter and died.
Troopers say speed caused the crash.
