WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Just days after being released from jail, a man is back behind bars after going on a joyride through Whatcom County.
Court documents state that police were called to the scene of a hit and run crash on Birch Bay Road Saturday evening.
The crash injured an 84-year-woman, who was taken to Peacehealth St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Passengers in the second vehicle told officers that the driver had been on a joy ride after being released from jail earlier that day.
They added that he had been drinking before getting behind the wheel, driving up to 90 mph at times.
The driver fled the scene on foot, but was found and arrested within 24 hours.
24-year-old Jordan Pickett is back in custody at the Whatcom County Jail on $50,000 bail.
