WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. – A car accident on Whidbey Island led to a fatality over the weekend.
The Washington State Patrol says a driver was headed north on State Route 525 near Clinton, when they crossed the center line and collided with a second vehicle head on.
The drivers of both cars where transported to local hospitals with injuries, but 77-year-old Sharon Gamble, a passenger in the second vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
WSP says drugs or alcohol were involved and the accident is still under investigation.
