ANACORTES, Wash. – The woman who died when she drove her SUV off the Anacortes ferry dock Thursday is identified as 30 year old Nicole Barney of Everett.
The Washington State Partrol reports she pulled out and drove around the holding lanes, down the loading ramp, through the crossing arm, and into the water.
Divers recovered her body and a large tow truck pulled the vehicle out of about 40 feet of water.
Recovery efforts stopped ferry traffic in and out of Anacortes.
