BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Women living around the Western Washington University campus are again being targeted by a man looking in their windows while exposing and touching himself.
Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says they received five reports over the weekend of a prowler or voyeur in the neighborhood around WWU, with all incidents being within blocks of each other.
So far, police do not have a description of the man and do not know if this is related to nearly twenty similar incidents that happened in the same area last fall.
Murphy urges people to use what they call the “9PM Routine,” by making a habit of removing valuables from cars, locking doors and windows, closing blinds or curtains and turning on the porch light to discourage potential criminals.
The #9PMRoutine is getting more important. There's been an increase in prowler/voyeur calls in the last couple of weeks. It is really important to have a porch light on, as it will deter someone from creeping around trying peek into windows. See something, call it in. #bp176
