EVERETT, Wash. — One Western Washington athletic event has been shutdown because of concerns over coronavirus.
The Northwest Athletic Conference community college women’s basketball tournament was suspended after the host school was shut down because of virus concerns, following an announcement from Everett Community College saying it was being closed after a student at the college had tested positive for coronavirus.
The Whatcom Community College Orcas lost to Mount Hood Community College in overtime in the tournament’s Sweet Sixteen before the event was suspended Thursday.
