Work on Birch Bay Berm project continues next week, expect minor delays

BLAINE, Wash. — Prepare for some minor delays along Birch Bay Drive during daylight hours next week.

The Contractor working on the Birch Bay Drive & Pedestrian Facility Project, also known as the “Birch Bay Berm” project, will be working on Monday and Tuesday between 7 AM and 5 PM.

Whatcom County says some shoulder closures are likely while crews excavate stormwater swale north of the Bay Breeze restaurant.

Work will be occurring mainly in the waterward shoulder of Birch Bay Drive and the beach.
