BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Fieldwork on Bellingham’s waterfront is resuming.
Work to clean up the area was put on pause during the governor’s stay-home order.
Now that it has been lifted, contracters will continue to survey areas in and around the waterfront, sample sediment, and conduct other testing.
This is a step forward in a large project led by the Department of Ecology to clean up the Bellingham waterfront by removing contaminated sediment and replacing an existing dock and bulkhead.
