BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A woman was arrested for allegedly sneaking drugs into the Whatcom County Jail.

54-year-old Aurelia Brin was a food service worker there.

In an interview with detectives from the Sheriff’s Office, Brin admitted that she had met with a former Skagit County inmate in August who gave her a bag of unknown items to bring into the Whatcom County jail to deliver to a specific inmate.

The investigation revealed that the unknown items were Suboxone strips, about 1 gram of heroin and 7 pills hidden in a chewing tobacco can.

She said that she had brought chewing tobacco given to her by an inmate’s mother into the jail on at least two occasions between May and August 2019.
