MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – A wrong-way driver caused a crash on I-5 that involved a Bellingham driver early Wednesday.
The State Patrol reports Ryan Lund of Covington was spotted driving south in the northbound lanes in Whatcom County just after 4 a.m.
Troopers chased him for almost 20 miles before he crashed into a car and truck that officers had stopped in Mount Vernon.
The driver of the car was Kadija Ibrahimhamdan of Bellingham.
Neither she nor her passenger, Victoria Chew of Bellingham, or the driver of the truck were hurt.
Lund was injured and taken to a hospital.
He faces charges of DUI and Reckless Driving.
