OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington’s Department of Transportation will be the first statewide agency to hire an artist-in-residence.
WSDOT says the artist will spend a year helping them develop new ways to reach their goals through a first-of-its-kind program created by them and Smart Growth America.
Cities across the country have engaged artists-in-residence to support their efforts, including Los Angeles where the artists have installed interactive artistic elements to bus shelters.
More information and instructions for applying are available at the website for Smart Growth America.
