Washington State Ferries has announced a delay in the resumption of their service to Canada.
WSF said the service will be delayed until 2022 due to an unclear opening of the maritime border between the U.S. and Canada.
Ongoing crew and vessel availability challenges were also cited as reasons for the decision.
When asked about vessel availability, WSF said they had an engine room fire aboard Wenatchee in April, causing them to lose one of their largest vessels through most of the rest of 2021.
