CONWAY, Wash. – A Washington state trooper was injured this morning, Tuesday, December 28th, after his car was struck on I-5.

The Washington State Patrol says the officer was stopped on the shoulder south of Conway dealing with a previous collision, when a second vehicle slid off the roadway, hit the guardrail, then struck his car.

The trooper was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital with injuries.

The second driver was not injured but WSP says they were driving too fast for the wintery conditions.

Please slow down if you’re driving today and remember to give law enforcement officers plenty of space to do their job.
