The Cougars will battle the Cougars on the gridiron. Washington State University and the University of Houston have agreed to a home-and-home football series beginning in 2019.
WSU Athletic Director Bill Moos announced the series dates Monday. The first game is Sept. 14, 2019 in Houston, followed by a Sept. 12, 2020 match-up at Martin Stadium in Pullman.
“In recent years Houston has been one of the top programs in the country,” Moos told WSUCougars.com “I believe our fans will enjoy having another quality nonconference opponent in Martin Stadium.”
Washington and Houston have played 3 times, with Houston leading the series 2 games to 1. Wazzu won the most recent match-up, downing Houston 24-to-22 in the 1988 Aloha Bowl.
