BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Following a request that local public transit be used for essential trips only, WTA has announced that they are paring back transit services.
Starting next Monday, fixed route and paratransit bus service will run on Saturday schedule Monday through Friday.
Buses will run on the Sunday schedule on Saturdays and Sundays.
WTA General Manager Pete Stark said they know that the changes will be a hardship for some, but the lower levels of service are necessary to keep transit running for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency.
WTA’s Zone Service providing limited dial-a-ride service to rural communities will not be reduced.
