LYNDEN, Wash. — The Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden starts next Monday, August 13, and beginning on Sunday, you can ride the bus for free.

Maureen McCarthy with the WTA says it’s normally a slow week for them, but they did see a rise in riders when they started offering free fare for fair week.

For people who want to stay later and not deal with parking, McCarthy says they offer a night ride out of the fair, which leaves as late as 10 P.M. and returns to the Cordata station.

The 10 P.M. bus picks people up at the stop across the street from the fairgrounds between Bank of the Pacific and Fairside Drive.

The only route that is not free is the ride to Mount Vernon since WTA does that in conjunction with Skagit Transportation.
