BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Western Washington University will require all students, faculty and staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19 before returning to campus in the fall.
The university’s Board of Trustees made the decision Wednesday, saying the move will protect the health and safety of the school community and speed a return to more normal personal interactions.
A statement says claims for personal, religious or medical exemptions will be considered.
The school will make vaccines available to those who can’t get them elsewhere.
Western joins the University of Washington, Washington State and some other colleges in Washington that will require vaccinations for people returning to campus.
