Western Washington University Athletic Director Steve Card is set to retire in June after 33 years with the University.

Card started with the Vikings as a golf coach and has served in his current position of Athletic Director for 10 years. WWU has won two National Championships during Card’s tenure.

“Steve Card has been a passionate champion for Viking Athletics and I am grateful for his long service to WWU,” said President Sabah Randhawa. “Our competitiveness in the NCAA Division II Great Northwest Athletic Conference across all sports has been exemplary for decades, yet Steve has never lost sight that real success comes when students grow in their academic preparation and leadership both on and off the field, and he has instilled that same drive in our coaches and Athletics staff.”

The Vikings will have a celebration for Card this spring.
