BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Longtime Western Washington University track-and-field coach Pee-Wee Halsell is in trouble because one of his volunteers steals and wears women’s clothing.
Halsell knew that Tanner Boyd was busted in Bellingham in 2014 after he was found running around an apartment complex wearing a stolen bra.
Two years later, right after he pled guilty and was sentenced for the 2014 crime, police say he did it again, but this time at a Western dorm.
A university spokesman says if Halsell had followed proper protocol and notified the Athletic Director about Boyd’s 2014 arrest, he would not have been allowed to volunteer.
Halsell was disciplined, but the spokesman won’t say how he was punished.
Boyd is a Western grad and a former member of the Track-and-field team.
