BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Bellingham School District is taking steps to further their anti-racist efforts.

Bellingham Public Schools announced Wednesday that their staff has co-developed a high school Ethnic Studies class in partnership with faculty at Western Washington University.

The semester-long class is a social studies elective.

The class description says they will discuss the experiences and perspectives of people of color with a goal of understanding political, economic, geographic, and social systems in order to advance equity and advocate for marginalized groups.
