The Western Viking men’s basketball team beat Alaska-Anchorage on the road Thursday night 76-66. Trevor Jasinsky and Tyler Payne had 14 points apiece to lead the Vikings. Western improves to 13-13 on the year and 7-9 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The men visit Alaska Fairbanks Saturday at 3:00.
The Western women lost at arch-rival Central Washington 77-66. Lexie Bland led the Vikings with 20 points playing in her hometown of Ellensburg. Western now has a record of 14-14 on the year and 9-8 in conference play. They visit Northwest Nazarene Saturday night at 6:00.
