BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Western Washington University will offer a new degree option.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the university has invested $1.3 million in a new marine, coastal and watershed sciences major set to begin in 2019.
The program is the second of its kind in Washington.
Increased interest in marine science sparked the program, and encouraged by the state’s demand for science and technology workforce development.
Classes will be held at the Shannon Point Marine Center in Skagit County.
