BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Western Washington University student escaped an attempted abduction Wednesday night.
The university reports that a female Western student was walking in the 300 block of Samish Way in Bellingham around 11:45 p.m. when a white man with brown hair pulled up in a silver SUV and tried to force her inside.
She punched and kicked the man to escape, ran to a nearby friend’s house for safety, and called the police.

University Police have increased patrols on and around campus.
