WWU women win, men lose Thursday night

The Western Washington University women’s basketball team beat Great Northwest Athletic Conference leader Alaska Anchorage Thursday night 71-64.  Emma Duff led the Vikings with 20 points.  Kelsey Rogers added 16.  Western improves to 12-5 on the year and 6-3 in GNAC play.  Western next hosts Alaska Fairbanks Saturday night at 7:00.

The Western men saw their eight-game winning streak end losing at Seattle Pacific 74-65.  Trevor Jasinsky led the Vikings with 17 points in the loss.  The men fall to 12-5 on the season and 7-2 in conference play.  They visit Saint Martin’s Saturday at 5:15.

The Western Viking women’s basketball team beat Concordia 77-53 at Carver Gym Thursday night.  Emma Duff led the Vikings with 19 points.  Western next hosts Western Oregon Saturday night at 7:00.

The Viking men lost at Northwest Nazarene 87-64.  Western fell behind 15-0 and never caught up.  Jalen Green had 13 in the loss for the Vikings.  Western visits arch-rival Central Washington Saturday night at 7:15.
