BELLINGHAM, Wash. – For the third time this season and the seventh time in her career, Western Washington University sophomore Jenn Paul has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for March 7-13.

Paul (Bellingham, WA) won individual medalist honors at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout (hosted by Cal State East Bay) finishing the 36-hole tournament with a 1-under-par 143. She punctuated her solid tournament firing a career-low-tying 3-under-par 69 at Hiddenbrooke Golf Course in the final round to win medalist honors by one stroke.

With the tournament win she became the first Viking to win a regular season tournament since Claire Rachor in 2011 at the Sonoma State Invitational. She also became just the third player in program history to finish a tournament under par, joining Sophie Elstrott in the Grand Canyon Fall Invitational and All-American Katja Trygg (twice in 2005). The 2014-15 GNAC co-Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year has finished in the top 10 in all five of her tournaments this season, and 9 of 14 for her career, and has a scoring average of 74.60 (2.80 over par).

This is the seventh career GNAC Player of the Week honor for Paul, also taking home the award Oct. 19-25 and Feb. 22-28 this season, and four times during her freshman season.

Paul and the Vikings return to the course next week (March 21-22) at the Otter Invitational hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at Bayonet & Blackhorse Golf Course in Seaside, Calif.
