BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Secretrary of State Kim Wyman says we should be confident in the security of Washington’s election system.
She told Tessa McLeod on the KGMI Afternoon News that our state was the target of hackers in 2016.
She stresses that the system that counts our ballots is never connected to the internet in order to keep hackers out.
And Wyman says her office has worked with Whatcom and all the other Washington counties to upgrade the voting system and implement the state’s new same-day voter registration law.
