Mike Trout scored from second base on Jean Segura’s error and the Los Angeles Angels rallied from a four-run deficit for a 6-5 win over the Seattle Mariners on Friday night.

Seattle traded away a 2019 fourth round MLS SuperDraft pick in the deal. 

Martinez will be the second former player to have his number retired by the Mariners, an honor that was announced in January.

Seattle recalled Andrew Moore to take Paxton’s roster spot.

Dylan Strom hit a grand slam and combined with Isiah Carlson on the mound to get the 6-to-4 win over Cedar Cliff from Pennsylvania. Strom was named the tournament MVP, while Carlson, Jacob Mason and Andrew Jones joined him on the All-Tourney Team. 

The junior out of Milpitas, California was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection last year. He tallied 39 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 5 sacks for the Dawgs in 2016. 

The back-up catcher was designated for assignment on August 6

The second-round draft pick out of the University of Washington was impressive in his debut against Dallas in the Hall of Fame Game.

The team announced the moves Thursday. The Storm (10-16) have lost four straight games and are fighting to make the playoffs.

Ferndale plays the Middle Atlantic regional champions, Cedar Cliff. Thursday in Clemmons, North Carolina.
