A study published recently in American Political Science Review found that Facebook political ads were more partisan, less negative and less issue-focused than those on TV. Travis Ridout from the WSU School of Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs joins Mike to discuss their findings.
You can hear more from Travis and ask questions during a free event sponsored by the Whatcom County Library System on October 7, 2-3 p.m., “Hacking Democracy: What Social Media is Doing to Politics (a Humanities Washington program)”. Pre-registration is required. It’s easy to do from the online calendar on the home page of wcls.org.
