Host Dillon Honcoop discusses new regulations effecting farmers in Whatcom County as the “Hirst Decision” rears its ugly head again.

Farmers in Whatcom County could be asked to account for the packed dirt roadways they have on their farms and build storm water treatment facilities for rain that falls on the roadways and other “impervious surfaces.”

Local contractor and impervious surfaces expert Loren Vander Yacht joins the program to explain more about the new requirements, the meaning of “impervious surface” and what it will mean for local farmers.
