Under a new proposal, those 18 and under could ride Whatcom County buses for free, but the change could cost other riders. Whatcom Transportation Authority is proposing a fare increase on their fixed routes and offering free youth fares. The proposed changes would not affect the $1 single ride fares, but 31-day and 92-day bus passes would increase by $5-10.
