FERNDALE, Wash. — A man convicted of vehicular homicide after a crash on Lummi Shore Road killed his passenger was sentenced to six years in prison.

Police arrested 30-year-old Logan Slade Carmona in June last year after he rolled his car into the ditch where it landed upside down.

His passenger, Billy Robbins, was pronounced dead at the scene after officers pulled him out of the submerged vehicle.

Troopers say Carmona admitted to taking heroin the night before.

Carmona had been convicted of three prior felonies, cementing the charge against him as a Class A Felony.
